At 114 years the Sequim Irrigation Festival is the oldest continuing festival in Washington State. The festival is held in downtown Sequim, located in Clallam County. The 2009 festival will run from May 2nd through May 10th, and will have many events for the entire family.

This is a scholarship event to select the royalty that will be the best representatives for Sequim in the Community and accompany the float as it travels around the state. Saturday, March 28, 2009 This is a major fund raising event for the festival as well as the first introduction of the 2009 Royalty, Pioneers, and Grand Marshal. 2009 Festival Pins as well as many donated items are auctioned during this event. Saturday, May 2, 2009, 10am - 5pm Sunday, May 3, 2009, 10am - 4pm Downtown Cedar and Seal Streets Arts and Crafts Fair with hand-made items from crafters, food, and live entertainment. Many join us each year for crafts, local entertainment and food. Saturday, May 2, 2009 Arts and Crafts Fair, Downtown Cedar and Seal Streets This year the Goldwing Touring Association Motorcycles will be on display with the Classic Car Show at the Arts and Crafts Fair. 
Saturday, May 2, 2009, Kids Day: 11am - 2pm Community Picnic: 10am - 4pm Carrie Blake Park We have combined the Kids Day with a new festival event, the Community Picnic, to create an event for the entire family: The Festival Family Picnic. Kids Day activities will take place around Guy Cole Center with both inside and outside activities. We have added new activities, including Softball games, a Dog Park Wagathon, Bicycle Poker Run, Square Dancing, May Pole, Historical Figures,and a Barbeque. Saturday, May 2, 5 - 9pm Guy Cole Center at Carrie Blake Park After the days festivities, there will be a Community Dinner. The dinner will be catered by Cedar Creek Restaurant with pasta from Bell Street Bakery. Entertainment will be provided by Lee Tyler Post. Beer and wine will be available Friday - Saturday, May 8-9, 7pm Sequim High School Auditorium The Sequim High School is presenting "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" at its annual operetta. Friday, May 8, 2009, 7am Sequim Elks Breakfast in spirit of Crazy Callen with awards given to best skits. Come in costume or just enjoy those that do. Thursday-Sunday, May 7-10, 2009 St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Parish Hall Sequim Arts, an organization of over 150 artists living on the Olympic Peninsula, is sponsoring its 33nd Annual Fine Arts Exhibit. 21th Annual Logging Show includes Truck and Tractor Pull, lawnmower races, early time gas engine display, food, arts and crafts. Fireworks Friday night at 9:30. Friday, May 8, 6 - 8pm Blake Avenue Lot This year the Strongman Competition has been moved to the Logging Show venue. International strongman competitors compete in axle lift, arm over arm truck pull, log press, tire flip, stone stack, dead lift and car lift. Friday, May 8, 2009, 9:30pm Blake Avenue Lot This is the second year for fireworks at the Logging Show events on Friday night. They are fantastic! Saturday, May 9, 2009, 10am Downtown Sequim Parade for kids 12 years and younger. Prizes are awarded. Saturday, May 9, 2009, 11am Downtown Sequim Classic cars from around the area parade through downtown Sequim.  Saturday, May 9, 2009, Noon Downtown Sequim 114th Irrigation Festival Grand Parade through downtown Sequim with pioneers, festival float and other floats from around the state, bands from around the area, community groups, businesses and more.
