131 ST SEQUIM IRRIGATION FESTIVAL Button Design Contest
“2026 Let’s Go Sequimming!”
The Button Design Contest for the 2026 Sequim Irrigation Festival is open to all students between 1st and 5th grades who reside within the Sequim School District boundaries.
Use the following excerpt from our storyline to inspire your design:
Join us as the legendary guardian Kraken with eyes twinkling like rubies rises to welcome sailors on a ship near the New Dungeness lighthouse. The guardian Kraken, with its tentacles curling around the ship, tells the sailors of the Irrigation Festival magic and invites all to celebrate its history and joyful traditions. Let the call of “Let’s Go Sequimming!” captivate your senses and spark an adventure that will ripple through your memories forever.
Also, keep in mind the rich history that irrigation in Sequim has given us, including the gift of sustainable life aswe celebrate 131 years in 2026 Let’s Go Sequimming!
How to Take Part in The button design contest
Who can enter: Students in 1st–5th grade who live within Sequim School District boundaries (max 2 entries per student).
Design theme + required text: Use the Kraken / lighthouse / “Let’s Go Sequimming!” storyline for inspiration, and include “2026 Let’s Go Sequimming!” in the artwork.
Artwork rules: Any non–computer-generated media; color encouraged; submit on 8½” x 11” white paper.
How/when to submit: Due January 15, 2026 to the student’s teacher, or mail to Irrigation Festival Button Contest, PO Box 2073, Sequim, WA 98382 (must be postmarked by 01/15/2026).
