In addition to the festival royalty, a group of third graders are crowned Junior Royalty as well.The junior royalty are selected from those that submit an essay on "Why do you love Sequim". Essays are due February 16, 2012, and winners will be announced on February 21st.

The 2012 Merchants Street Fair applications are now available. You can download the application here: 2012 Merchants Street Fair Application or you can contact Theresa Rubens.
On May 5th Washington Street will be closed between Sequim Avenue and 2nd Street for the Merchants Street Fair. The center of the street will be lined with booths from local businesses and it is a great way for you to get to know some of our local businesses. For the merchants, it is a great way to become know within local community by being able to meet people.
The Irrigation Festival Float will be on display and you will have an opportunity to meet the 2012 Royalty and get their autograph.

Congratulations to the 2012 Grand Marshal and Pioneers!
The Grand Marshal for the 2012 Sequim Irrigation Festival will be Darrell Sharp.
We are very pleased that the pioneers have been named by the Sequim Pioneer Association. They are as follows:
- Grand Pioneer Jerry Angiuli
- Grand Pioneer Caroline Baumunk
- Honorary Pioneer Margaret Erickson
- Honorary Pioneer Chuck Baumunk
A Grand Pioneer is one who was born and lived most of their life in the Sequim area. An Honorary Pioneer is one who has lived most of the last 40 years in the Sequim area.
More information about each of these dignitaries will be available in February. |

2012 will be the 22nd year for the Sequim Irrigation Festival Arts & Crafts Fair. It will be held May 5-6, 2012 in downtown Sequim.
Applications are now available for Craft and Food Vendors. Check these out on the Arts and Crafts Fair page and apply for this great part of the Irrigation Festival. We'll see you there!

We are so happy to announce that Melody Workman, a 5th grader from Helen Haller Elementary School, had the winning design in our annual button design contest. Melody's design was selected from over 290 entries, which was a record number. Congratulations Melody!
Her winning design will be revealed in early January and will then be used on the Irrigation Festival buttons that are sold as fund raiser for the festival. These buttons are traditionally sold by 5th graders in the school district. |
