The Irrigation Festival Pageant is a scholarship event to select the royalty that will best represent the Sequim community. The Royalty accompanies the float as it travels throughout the state on the Float Parade Schedule. The Royalty are community minded high school students who volunteer their time by working with the festival committee and promoting community involvement. This is a big opportunity for them to make life long friends, meet business people, help with the festival and have a lot of FUN!
The 2008 Royalty Pageant was held on March 1, 2008 at the Sequim High School Auditorium. Congratulations to the newly selected court!

Cindy has a long family history with the royalty and the festival. She is now the Festival Pageant Chairperson. In the 1940’s her aunt was on the court. At that time the court was selected by their peers. In the 1950’s another of Cindy’s aunts was on the court. During that time the court was chosen by their classmates. When Cindy was selected to the court in 1973, the court was interviewed by and selected by the Festival Committee. The Pageant process as we know it now started in 1977 with Tracie Sofie becoming our Queen. It is a fun evening filled with entertainment and anticipation.
We would like to thank our Royalty Pageant Sponsor this year:
