Jenae Stratton is 16 years old and lives with her parents, Mike and Tricia Stratton, and 2 sisters. She and her twin sister moved to Sequim when they were adopted at 8 months of age. She has been singing since she was 7 years old and is now a member of the SHS Choir. She has also been in several plays. Jenae started playing soccer when she was 8 years old with the Sequim Youth Organization, and has now been playing on the Lady Wolves Soccer team for the past two years.
Jenae is a member of the Soroptimist’s Women in Network program, and Link Crew, a mentoring program for incoming freshmen. She enjoys reading and learning other languages, and hopes to use those languages in her travels following college. Jenae is looking at either nursing or floral design for her future. When asked about these 2 different fields, she said she has been interested in nursing for a long time, but she took a floral design class and she “liked that it expanded her creative side”. She also likes to sew and draw. Jenae loves living in the mountains and exploring the many trails around her home.
Now that Jenae is a member of the festival royalty she sees how she can be a role model for other young girls, and represent our town and tell people what Sequim is about.
