Each year the Sequim Irrigation Festival has the honor of having a number of dignitaries associated with the festival.
Grand Marshal
The Grand Marshal is selected by the Irrigation Festival Committee. It is a person within Sequim who has contributed to the community. Tom Santos as been selected as the 2008 Grand Marshal. You can read more about him and the 2007 Grand Marshal John Kirner on the Grand Marshal page.
Pioneers
Grand Pioneers and Honorary Pioneers are selected by the Sequim Pioneers Association. The Grand Pioneers were born and lived most of their lives in the Sequim area. The Honorary Pioneers have lived in the Sequim area for over 40 years. The 2008 Grand Pioneers are Robert J. Clark and Alice Lotzgesell Edgington. The 2008 Honorary Pioneers are Irvin Boyd and Velma Spieker Good. You can read more about the 2008 pioneers on the Pioneers page.
Royalty
These ambassadors for Sequim were selected at the Festival Pageant that took place on March 1st. The 2008 Royalty are Queen Jennifer Lancheros, Princess Melissa Karapostoles, Princess Persephone Nelson and Princess Jenae Stratton. You can read more about them on the Royalty page.
Jr. Royalty
The Jr. Royalty are selected from the 3rd Graders at Helen Haller and Greywolf Elementary Schools who enter the "Why I like living in Sequim" essay contest. The 2008 winners are Victoria Hall, Hayden Crane and Amber Lamb from Greywolf Elementary, and Karla Najera from Helen Haller Elementary. You can read more about them at the Jr. Royalty page.
